Journey to Freedom

Journey to Freedom is an annual bereavement camp for youth, ages 6-15 that have experienced a loss of a parent, sibling, grandparent, or other significant person in the past 1 to 2 years.

About

Under the guidance of our professional bereavement staff, campers will:

• Be welcomed to an environment dedicated to facilitating the passage toward healing
• Expand their understanding of death and the grief process
• Gain opportunities to discover and share emotions in a non-judgmental atmosphere
• Experience the normalization of grieving
• Learn methods to successfully manage grief

Freedom Hospice’s Journey to Freedom offers a unique setting that contributes to the stages of healing through a variety of fun, yet therapeutic activities. These age-appropriate activities allow campers to experience the needed support required for achieving emotional restoration as well as provide an avenue to build lasting relationships and memories.
